Winter Images from Northern California

Coastal Northern California can be very beautiful during the winter - even without snow. The mornings are often veiled in fog or mist. The sun rises in icy pink on a cadet blue sky. The moon shrouded in clouds - very quiet and mystical.

Trying my hand at photography this year, too. :)

  1. It is beautiful. It is interesting, how we apply winter beauty to our landscapes. One of my friends in San Luis Obispo was crowing about the beautiful day there, 73 and sunny, and here in Bakersfield it was 44 degrees with dense fog. He asked, "Is it beautiful there?" I think he was expecting a negative response or a grown, not my "Yes, it is very beautiful here today."

  2. I think that when you are creative like us we look at our surroundings as works of art - we look at the texture, colors and patterns when we evaluate our day. I would dare to suggest that left brain folk look at their surroundings on more practical grounds - what do you think?

Anyway, no matter the weather - there is something beautiful about our California landscape from north to south, east to west. Cheers!
